W. R. Grace’s income jumped 853.6% to $41.46 million in the third quarter. In the year-ago quarter, a loss of $9.4 million was recorded in discontinued operations, primarily from depressed agricultural chemicals results. The New York company said all three of its segments--specialty chemicals, natural resources and general businesses--contributed to the higher results.
