Prosecutors in Chicago sought to play part of the Clint Eastwood movie “The Enforcer” for a U.S. District Court jury in the conspiracy trial of El Rukns gang members charged with plotting to carry out terrorist acts in the United States in exchange for $2.5 million from Libya. Judge Charles Norgle denied the request, saying the showing would be too prejudicial because of the movie’s violent nature. Norgle said he might reconsider his ruling if reputed gang leader Jeff Fort or the four others on trial in the case decide to testify. As part of the scheme, the quasi-religious El Rukns allegedly sought to purchase an anti-tank rocket that was the same type displayed by Eastwood in “The Enforcer.”
