Local News in Brief : Rites for Crash Victims
A memorial service will be held Sunday in Beverly Hills for two Southern Californians killed in a plane crash in Burma.
Reeve James and Carolyn Volk Jacques, both 45, of La Jolla were two of 49 people killed Sunday when a Burma Airways plane crashed into a hillside near the Burmese city of Pagan during monsoon rains.
The service will be held at 3 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills.
The couple were active in the Los Angeles area before moving to La Jolla. Reeve Jacques was a trial lawyer, and Carolyn Jacques was a part-time teacher and was active in the National Charity League, Children’s Home Society and Girl Scouts.
