Irvine : Warrants Issued for 2 Accused of RV Fraud
Warrants of $50,000 each have been issued for the arrest of two men accused of bilking 11 people out of more than $100,000 when the victims’ recreation vehicles were sold on consignment from a lot in Irvine.
Roger Manton, 51, of Costa Mesa and Harry Edward Anderson, 60, of Mission Viejo are being sought on warrants issued by Orange County Municipal Judge Selim Franklin.
Manton is the owner of Travel Time RV Sales in Irvine, and Anderson had a financial interest in the lot, said Rande King, an investigator for the Department of Motor Vehicles.
The men would take recreational vehicles on consignment and sell them but allegedly failed to turn the money over to the owners, King said.
In two cases, King said, the owners were bilked out of the titles to their vehicles.
King said police have been unable to find the men. The Travel Time lot was closed down in May.
Manton is charged with 26 counts in the sale of the vehicles, including eight counts of grand theft-property and four counts of grand theft-auto.
Anderson is charged with two counts each of grand theft-property and grand theft-auto.
