Margaret K. Workman, 85, whose efforts on behalf of local charities and state organizations dated to the early 1930s. Widow of Thomas E. Workman, whose father was mayor of Los Angeles in 1887-88, Mrs. Workman in 1938 helped organize Las Madrinas, a support group of the Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles. Her other activities centered on the California Conference of Social Work, the National Committee on Child Welfare, the Los Angeles Council of Social Agencies, the Los Angeles Community Chest and the Catholic Welfare Bureau. In 1935 she was named to the California Relief Commission, which administered federal relief funds during the Depression. In Los Angeles on Saturday.
