Alexander S. Kohanski, 85, a prominent Jewish educator, author and editor. Before retiring to Southern California in 1983, Kohanski, a native of Lithuania, had been director of the League for Labor Palestine, editor of publications for the American Jewish Conference and executive director of the San Francisco Jewish Education Society. Among his published works were “An Analytical Interpretation of Martin Buber’s ‘I and Thou,’ ” “Toward a New Orientation in Modern Thinking,” “Martin Buber’s Philosophy of Interhuman Relation” and “Greek Mode of Thought in Modern Philosophy.” In Laguna Hills on Sept. 29.
