Boeing Co. reported that two European airlines have ordered a total of eight new Boeing 737 jetliners in a deal valued at about $210 million. Lufthansa German Airlines ordered five 737-300s for delivery in the first quarter of 1989. Lufthansa, Boeing’s largest overseas customer, will have a fleet of 20 737-300s when the planes are delivered. Maersk Air of Denmark ordered three 737-300s for delivery in September and October, 1988. The Lufthansa jets will carry 110 passengers, while the Maersk planes will be configured to carry 146 passengers.
