Galinson Given Dayan Center Post

Murray L. Galinson, civic leader and president and chief executive officer of San Diego National Bank, has accepted a position on the international board of the prestigious Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies, located at Tel Aviv University in Israel.

Galinson’s community involvement includes chairing the San Diego Police/Community Relations Board, the Peace Through Law Institute at California Western School of Law, and the community relations council of the United Jewish Federation of San Diego.

Galinson joins a group of leaders on the center’s 20-member advisory council that includes Charles Bonfman, Alexander M. Haig Jr., Baron Edmond de Rothschild and Cyrus R. Vance. The center’s goal is to expand knowledge and understanding of the Middle East and Africa.

The Dayan Center publishes analyses of Middle Eastern affairs, such as the “Middle East Contemporary Survey,” and focuses on unbiased studies of the past and current social and political realm of Middle Eastern Countries.

The 20-year-old center was renamed five years ago to honor Moshe Dayan, the former defense minister and foreign minister of Israel.
