U.S. Men’s Volleyball Team Defeats Soviets

DENVER — The United States men’s volleyball team defeated the Soviet Union, 15-6, 13-15, 15-10, 15-13, in an exhibition game Thursday night.
The U.S. team, which won the USA Cup last week in Los Angeles, had 110 kills, including 32 by Steve Timmons, who was on the 1984 Olympic team.
Pavel Moissejenko led the Soviet team with 23 of its 86 kills.
