The United States women’s field hockey team has been seeded fifth in the eight-team field for the 1988 Olympic Games at Seoul, South Korea. The U.S. team qualified by finishing ninth in 1986 World Cup competition, first in a six-team tournament at Edinburgh, Scotland, in April, and second in the Pan American Games last summer at Indianapolis.
