18 Students Arrested in Vermont CIA Protest
Authorities on Wednesday arrested 18 students for blocking the corridor to the University of Vermont’s administration offices during a protest against CIA recruitment of students.
The arrests came in the wake of a student takeover of the administration offices Tuesday night that forced administration workers to move to another building Wednesday.
Protesters contended that the CIA’s covert operations violate international and U.S. law and accused the agency of engaging in drug trafficking and assassinations to achieve its goals.
