Halloween Controversy

Share

Over the years there has been a great deal of controversy regarding Halloween. Each year articles attempt to educate people about its origins and that Halloween does have spiritual dimensions and implications. Of course, to others, it is just an “innocent” celebration of fun and games.

I have experienced a different side to this holiday, and thus, I have strong reservations about the holiday. My problems stem from working with homeless youth and sexually abused children in Portland. My experience is similar to the recent documentaries and reports that tie satanism to sexual and child abuse. The “Satanic Bible” encourages worshipers to deprive children of their innocence, and views this as one of the highest and most desirable sins. I met kids who were victims of such abuse. I am in support of freedom of religion, but when groups encourage and actually perform the above practices, we must put a heavy hand on such groups. Please be aware that Halloween is a very active evening for satanic and sorcery oriented groups. This is a documented reality.

KTLA, Channel 5, is actually showing a seance that was taped for the show, “Search for Houdini,” tonight . It is atrocious that this would go into homes where innocent children may be unsupervised. Divination, or sorcery, is what takes place in a seance. The Bible teaches that such practices do not contact dead spirits, but rather a demon functions as a medium and imitates such voices. Whatever you do for Halloween, be educated and ask yourself about the spiritual dimensions. Do not invite potentially painful and dangerous results into your homes or lives.
