KAISERSLAUTERN, West Germany —
A U.S. Army tractor-trailer carrying Pershing 2 missiles careened off the road early Saturday outside this southwest German town.
West German police, providing security for a controversial Pershing maneuver code-named Carbon Archer, said a loaded U.S. rocket transporter overturned on a forest road near Kaiserslautern, about 70 miles west of Frankfurt.
No one was injured, and the unarmed Pershings were not jarred loose from the transport vehicle, police said.
