Indian troops moved through eastern Sri Lanka on a manhunt for a dozen Tamil separatist leaders hiding in dense jungle, the Sri Lankan radio said. The search was conducted between the east coast towns of Trincomalee and Batticaloa for 12 leaders of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam. Indian troops, in Sri Lanka to enforce a July 29 peace accord, have battled the Tigers for weeks trying to force compliance with the agreement.
