Dr. Spock Fitted With Pacemaker
Associated Press
BOSTON —
Baby doctor Benjamin Spock was fitted with a cardiac pacemaker today, several days after being hospitalized for injuries suffered in a fall.
Spock, 84, was listed in excellent condition following the 90-minute surgery at New England Medical Center. He was originally scheduled to be released today, but results of an electrocardiogram indicated he may have had an excessively slow heart rate that contributed to his fall by causing him to faint first.
