Castro Leaves for Moscow

MIAMI — Cuban President Fidel Castro left Havana on his way to the Soviet Union today to help celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution, the Cuban state radio reported.
There has been recent U.S. interest in possible Cuban-Soviet coolness, following two critical articles in a Soviet magazine. Castro had declined to go to Moscow on two obvious occasions in recent years, but a Radio Reloj report monitored in Miami said Castro will participate in an “important meeting” in Moscow to be headed by Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev. Castro met Gorbachev in Moscow last January during the Soviet Communist Party Congress.
