Abdalla El-Badry was appointed vice president for research and development at Disease Detection International of Irvine. Before joining Disease Detection, El-Badry served as manager of infectious disease research and development for Johnson & Johnson’s Ortho Diagnostics in Carpinteria, Santa Barbara County. He was previously employed by Electronucleonics Inc. in Columbia, Md., and Abbott Laboratories in Chicago. Disease Detection International develops tests for the detection of infectious diseases in people and animals.
