Duarte : Auto Row to Have 8 Dealers

The city has announced that eight car dealerships will be located in the new Central Avenue auto row on the site of Northview Middle School.

The city will build a new middle school at Highland and Central avenues next to Duarte High School, a new auditorium between the two schools and a new school district administration building on Huntington Drive.

City officials said the auto row will include Duarte Toyota; Duarte Suzuki; Arcadia Nissan and Foulger Ford, now in Arcadia; Santa Anita Acura, now in Monrovia; Duarte Mitsubishi; a new Volkswagen dealership and an eighth dealership to be named within a year.

The school project is expected to take two years, and the auto row, between Mountain and Highland avenues north of the Foothill Freeway, is scheduled for completion 18 months later.
