Michael K. Deaver’s perjury trial was postponed today until next Wednesday so the former presidential aide can undergo surgery to remove a kidney stone.

Deaver suffered his second kidney stone attack in nearly two weeks and was admitted Wednesday night to Georgetown University Hospital, defense lawyer Randall J. Turk told U.S. District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson. Doctors have scheduled surgery Friday to remove the stone and Deaver must remain in the hospital for two or three days, Turk said. Deaver was hospitalized Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 after suffering an initial kidney stone attack.
