Defenseman Craig Redmond, suspended last month by the Kings for refusing to report to the minors, will join the Canadian Olympic hockey team, his agent said Wednesday.

Alan Eagleson, Redmond’s agent, said the Kings had given Redmond permission to join the Olympic team although “they’d prefer for him to report to New Haven.”
