Trump Agrees to Trim N.Y. Building’s Height
Developer Donald Trump has agreed to reduce the height of his proposed world’s tallest building by 114 feet to comply with Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
The FAA said that the reduced tower, now set to rise 1,835 feet to the tip of its mast, would not interfere with airport air traffic. The building still would be the tallest in the world, 381 feet higher than Chicago’s Sears Tower, the current record holder.
The building is part of Trump’s proposal for a development called Television City in Manhattan. NBC has decided that it was no longer considering a move to the site.
