Crocker Center Name Changed to New Owner’s

Share

A bit of California history disappeared at the beginning of this month with the name change of the Crocker Center on Bunker Hill in downtown Los Angeles.

Wells Fargo Bank has moved into 12 floors in the 54-story north tower, now renamed Wells Fargo Tower, according to Maguire Thomas Partners and Wells Fargo Bank, general partners in what is now the Wells Fargo Center.

The 45-story IBM Tower and The Court, a one-acre garden pavilion at the base, complete the project on Grand Avenue between 3rd and 4th streets.

The six-month-long moving process involved the redesign of 200 signs and the relocation of about 500 employees from Well Fargo’s 5th and Flower streets location. Wells Fargo acquired Crocker Bank, which traced its formation to the Gold Rush era, in May, 1986.
