Police armed with tear gas and water cannon dispersed more than 1,000 self-proclaimed anarchists who hurled Molotov cocktails and rocks near the heavily guarded U.S. Embassy in Athens, authorities said. The violence erupted after more than 100,000 people shouting anti-American slogans marched to the embassy to commemorate the 14th anniversary of a student uprising against a Greek military junta. Witnesses said at least 15 people, including five Greek journalists, were taken to the hospital with broken bones after police beat them with riot sticks. At least five people were arrested, they said.
