Inmates at Graterford Prison won their demand to be served real turkey on Thanksgiving instead of “reconstituted” butterballs by refusing to eat their supper for two days, prison officials said today.

More than 1,000 inmates began the partial hunger strike Monday night and ended the protest Wednesday evening when prison administrators promised to prepare whole turkeys in the traditional manner for the annual feast.
