Murder Trial’s List of Jury Candidates Includes the Victim
A prosecutor says he was stunned to see the name of a murder victim on the list of potential jurors for the trial of her alleged killer.
Ethel Walker’s name was drawn from the roll of registered voters when the pool was assembled for the trial of her estranged husband, Freddie Lee Walker, months before his trial began Monday, court clerks said.
No one realized the Ethel Walker on the list was the victim until an assistant state attorney spotted her name.
She was stabbed to death in her Pensacola home on May 19. Walker is accused of stabbing her 18 times.
