48 Hurt in Blast at S. African Paper Mill

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa —
A massive explosion rocked a South African paper mill on Thursday, slightly injuring 48 people and causing extensive damage, the owners said.
A spokeswoman for the company, SAPPI, said the firm does not suspect sabotage in the blast at the town of Ngodwana in eastern Transvaal province. SAPPI is now the company’s official name. It was formally named South African Pulp and Paper Industries.
