Soviet Mine Managers Blamed in Fire Deaths

MOSCOW —
Managers of a Soviet mine delayed calling outside rescuers when fire broke out, contributing to the deaths of at least six miners, the trade union daily Trud reported on Friday.
The managers lost their jobs and may be prosecuted, the papers said.
