Despite freezing weather, New Yorkers started queuing up at 3 a.m. Monday to purchase tickets for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera” and by midday had nabbed more than $10.3 million’s worth. The tickets, which cost $30 to $50 each, were sold in person and over the telephone.
