American Ballet Theatre, led by artist director Mikhail Baryshnikov, returns to the Orange County Performing Arts Center on Tuesday to begin a 13-day engagement. Last December, the New York-based company presented its annual holiday production of “The Nutcracker”; this year it will present eight programs of mixed repertory and eight performances of the full-length story ballet “The Sleeping Beauty,” set to Tchaikovsky’s score and restaged from the original 1890 version.
