United Community Bank has named Douglas Shearer and David B. Melton to the newly created positions of executive vice president and regional vice president, respectively.

Shearer’s duties include developing new business for the Westlake Village bank, which also has a branch in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles. Melton will manage the bank’s home office.
