Peter Wirnsberger of Austria swept the second round of the Lawrence Nor-Am Slalom Ski Championship at Whiteface Mountain near Lake Placid, N.Y.
Wirnsberger’s two-run cumulative time of 1 minute 50.11 seconds was just fast enough to beat Americans Kyle Wieche and Jack Miller. Wieche, of Farmington, Conn., was second with a combined time of 1:50.18. Miller, of Steamboat Springs, Colo., was third with 1:50.20.
