Fluor Daniel, a unit of Irvine-based Fluor Corp., has been awarded a contract by Arco Petroleum Products to provide engineering and procurement services and to act as construction liaison during installation of two units at Arco’s Los Angeles refinery. The value of the contract was not disclosed. The units will produce sulfuric acid alkylation and methyl tertiary butyl ether, which are used to enhance octane levels in unleaded gasoline. Work is under way in Fluor Daniel’s Irvine offices and is scheduled for completion in early 1990. Fluor Daniel is the engineering, construction and technical services unit of Fluor, an engineering and construction company with investments in coal and lead.
