The Bangladeshi government on Monday denied blacklisting 11 television stars involved in anti-government protests, but a spokesman for the National Broadcasting Authority said the government-controlled network had indeed canceled three popular drama series they appeared in. “Nobody has been blacklisted at all. Even the artists who are agitating know it very well,” the spokesman said. The actors said on Sunday they had been blacklisted for their role in an opposition campaign aimed at forcing President Hossain Mohammad Ershad to resign.
