National Education of Newport Beach and Advanced Systems of Arlington Heights, Ill., completed their previously announced merger after shareholders approved the combination at separate meetings on Tuesday. Under the terms of the merger, Advanced Systems shareholders will receive 1.625 shares of National Education common stock for each share of Advanced Systems stock. Based on recent stock prices, the merger is valued at about $195 million. National Education’s Deltak subsidiary in Naperville, Ill., will be merged with Advanced Systems. Deltak provides training in data processing and management, while Advanced Systems offers consulting services and training products, with special emphasis on information processing.
