Rockettes Color Line

I would like to correct your item about the Rockettes in Morning Report (Dec. 28).

I was a Rockette during the ‘40s, and we were not allowed to get tanned because any variation drew the audiences’ attention from the line as a whole to that individual girl.

Unfortunately, a precision line has to be all one color of skin as well as costumes.

Russell Markert, the Rockettes’ founder, would be surprised to learn that he died in 1962. He is still very much alive, and I think you owe him an apology.
