Local representatives of the U.S. Census Bureau plan to revisit selected area households Monday to survey jobs, earnings and personal spending habits.

Other subjects covered in the survey will include the economic effects of unemployment, disability and retirement, and participation in programs such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and food stamps, said John E. Reeder, director ofthe Census Bureau’s Los Angeles regional office.

Results of the survey will be used to help lawmakers and government administrators determine how well government programs are serving the public and how changes in programs and policies will affect the public, Reeder said.
