Chinese Sick From Clams

BEIJING —
About 20,000 Shanghai residents became ill after eating clams harvested from heavily polluted waters off the coast of East China’s Jiangsu province, the official New China News Agency said Wednesday. The municipal government has halted sales of the clams and confiscated more than 300 tons of them, the report said.
