Slopes in Cyprus Record Early Snow

NICOSIA, Cyprus — Skiers deplored the lack of snow on Europe’s slopes this winter--but the island of Cyprus had some of its earliest snowfalls in years.
“When I hear of Cypriots who went to Europe to ski and didn’t find snow over the holidays, I tell them they should have stayed home,” Cyprus Ski Club President Paul Michaelides said.
