Yugoslavia will seek IMF help in securing easier repayments on its $20-billion foreign debt to relieve its economic turmoil, Western diplomats said. Officials from the International Monetary Fund are due in Belgrade Monday to review Yugoslavia’s 1987 economic performance and pave the way for talks starting Jan. 17 to discuss the possibility of renewed access to IMF resources, a Western embassy economist said. Inflation has been running at 167%. Yugoslavia missed $245 million of debt repayments in June, 1987, due to a shortage of foreign currency.
