A West German woman arrested this week on suspicion of involvement in the fatal bombing of a West Berlin discotheque in 1986 may be a drug addict, a West Berlin official said. Justice Department spokesman Volker Kaehne said addiction “could have played a role” in Christine Gabriele Endrigkeit’s alleged involvement, but he declined to be more specific. However, judicial sources said the implication was that Endrigkeit, 27, could have planted the bomb to raise cash for drugs. Kaehne said she has a previous conviction for procuring drugs. Two American soldiers and a Turkish woman were killed in the disco blast.
