BANGKOK, Thailand —
Vietnam will send more than 10,000 workers, including several thousand construction workers, to the Soviet Bloc and other countries this year as part of its ongoing labor export program, the Vietnam News Agency said Saturday.
The agency said that 1,100 will go to Siberia to work on construction projects while 4,000 are being sent to East Germany. Workers will also be sent to Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Algeria and Iraq.
The workers are paid higher salaries than at home.
