Jury Votes Life Term in Slaying of Husband

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
A jury recommended a life sentence for a woman convicted of murder in the killing of her abusive husband by men she hired.
Attorneys for Lana Anderson said they would appeal over the “battered woman” defense. The jury deliberated about two hours Saturday before recommending that Anderson, who was convicted of first-degree murder, be sentenced to life in prison without chance of parole.
