Charles D. Hamilton has been named chairman, president and chief executive of Migent Inc., the Lake Tahoe-based publisher of business software and peripherals. The announcement was made by Carl Gritzmaker who also announced his resignation from Migent to pursue new entrepreneurial interests. He will serve as a consultant to Migent. Hamilton had been executive vice president and managing director of MI Software Corp. His European responsibilities have been assumed by Jan Feaster, who has been promoted to vice president, managing director, Europe, for MI Software Corp.

In addition, David Orfao has been named executive vice president-sales, and David Patrick has been named to the board of directors, Migent. Patrick remains vice president, marketing of Migent and president of MI Software Corp.
