United Technologies’ income skyrocketed to $591.7 million for fiscal 1987 from $72.7 million a year ago. The Hartford, Conn., company noted that income would have reached $419 million last year without provisions for restructuring costs and employee severence costs. Revenue was up 9.5% to $17.2 billion.
