Peruvian Troops Kill 6 Shining Path Rebels

CUZCO, Peru —
An army patrol shot and killed six Shining Path guerrillas during a clash in the isolated highlands of Apurimac state, the military said.
A brief communique Friday said troops exchanged fire Jan. 14 with 20 guerrillas near the town of Tapayriguas.
