San Diego’s downtown office vacancy rate dipped to 9.1% on Dec. 31, the first time that figure has been in single digits since 1982, according to an office space survey by Coldwell Banker. The downtown rate is down from 15% a year ago; it was up to 24% in 1985.
Coldwell Banker attributed the drop in vacancies to the fact that no new major downtown office buildings have been completed since 1985.
