Polish Envoy, Kin Ask Asylum

STOCKHOLM —
A Polish diplomat in Stockholm has asked for political asylum in the second such case this year, the Swedish Foreign Ministry said today.
Marek Lewicki, a second secretary responsible for cultural affairs, contacted local police Wednesday to seek asylum for himself, his wife and their 5-year-old son, Foreign Ministry spokesman Martin Hallqvist said. Embassy Vice Consul Witold Grabiec last month sought asylum for himself and his family.
