Area Roundup : Road Races Set for Yorba Linda

Sign-ups are under way for the Rose Drive Friends 5- and 10-kilometer runs, which will be held Feb. 13 in Yorba Linda.

The 5K race will begin at 8 a.m. in the parking lot of the Rose Drive Friends Church. The 10K race, which will follow at 9 a.m., also will start in the church’s parking lot.

Participants can pre-register before Feb. 11 by mail or in person at the church, which is located at 4221 Rose Dr., Yorba Linda 92686. Pre-registration fees are $3 for the race or $7 for the race and T-shirt.

Registration on the day of the race will be $4 for the race or $8 for the race and T-shirt.

The fourth annual President’s Cup slo-pitch softball tournament for men’s C and D teams will be held Feb. 20 at Hart Park in Orange.

The tournament will begin at 9 a.m., and each team will be guaranteed at least four games.

The entry fee is $150 per team.

Soccer For Everyone will hold tryouts for boys age 19 and under and age 16 and under on Saturday at Artesia High School. Tryouts begin at 10 a.m.

Girls’ tryouts for ages 19 and under will be held Feb. 13 at University High School, beginning at 10 a.m.

Approximately 50 players will be selected from tryouts throughout the state to travel to Sweden, Norway and Denmark for a summer tour. The cost for the program is $2,800 per player.
