Bush-Rather Tiff

If George Bush would not have been the liar that he and others in the Reagan Administration are, then Dan Rather would not have had to resort to the type of tactics that are now under fire (“Whose Ambush Was It, Anyway?,” by Howard Rosenberg and Jay Sharbutt, Jan. 27).

Rather was only expressing what every thinking American (and there are few) feels when they hear politicians evading questions and lying.

And by the way, Mr. Rosenberg, I will nominate Rather as America’s shrieking Ayatollah of Truth--who else is even whispering it?
