‘THIN MAN’ ON A DIET

I trust the error in stating that Myrna Loy appeared in 14 “Thin Man” films belongs to reviewer Betty Lukas, and not authors Loy and James Kotsilibas-Davis. While Loy did appear in 14 films with William Powell, there were only 6 “Thin Man” films: “The Thin Man” (1934), “After The Thin Man” (1936), “Another Thin Man” (1939), “Shadow of the Thin Man” (1941), “‘The Thin Man Goes Home” (1944), and “Song of the Thin Man” (1947).

Loy’s other appearances with Powell were in “Manhattan Melodrama” (1934), “Evelyn Prentice” (1934), “The Great Ziegfeld” (1936), “Libeled Lady” (1936), “Double Wedding” (1937), “I Love You Again” (1940), “Love Crazy” (1941), and a cameo appearance by Loy in “The Senator Was Indiscreet” (1947).

Ah, if only there had been more than 6 “Thin Man” films, as they are among the best mystery-comedy films ever made.
